Susan Munro-Indie Film Editor

"My passion is telling stories...

The long format of features along with the terrifying freedom of an indie film is such a perfect opportunity to challenge your creative balance.

I take the responsibility very seriously of collaborating with directors that often have taken huge risks both creatively and financially to make their film.

My experiences of launching and running a post production company combined with producing commercials for brands, allows me to bring various solutions to collaborate with the director to find best version of the story."

"I’ve know Susan for nearly 20 years, having the great pleasure to work with her on various occasions. during that time. We worked together on Love 99, Veronica Brady’s documentary about the LA theatre scene.

As usual, Susan brought her A-Game everyday. Here’s what you get when you work with Susan: creativity of the highest caliber, a collaborative story-teller who puts the integrity of the project above everything else, a full-fledged edit shop from offline through final mix and color, a tireless partner, and a superb final cut.... She rocks."

The Debt Collector is a short film about a lonely outcast who discovers his elderly neighbor dead on the eve of their first dinner together. Minutes become hours, and hours become days as he immerses himself into her life history through numerous photos, records, and home movies. As nature begins to take its inevitable course, he must come to terms with the fact that his first real friendship might not last forever.

A Place to Live

"Susan is the first person I share ideas with and the individual I most rely upon throughout the production and post-production process. She is an extremely focused, incredibly creative and very meticulous editor who truly understands storytelling. We produced two documentaries, most notably the award-winning film, "A Place to Live," the story of seven marginalized gay seniors in search of affordable housing in Los Angeles, which toured the international festival circuit and aired on PBS.

I am not exaggerating when I say I could not have made the movie without her support. She is a highly-revered business professional who is entirely dedicated to her work, her family and her friends. I am eager to have the opportunity to work with her again."

The Debt Collector

"I feel incredibly lucky to have had Susan's keen insight and unique sensibilities on The Debt Collector.

After handing off our raw footage to Susan, every expectation I had in terms of what was possible for my film was blown out of the water by her creativity and out of the box thinking in the edit bay.

She was a true joy to collaborate with and gave our film the little bit of magic it needed to make an impact on the festival circuit and beyond."

Rich Ceraulo - Director "The Debt Collector:"

The Debt Collector was an official selection of the Academy Award qualifying Cinequest Film Festival and New Filmmakers LA.
